Here’s a thing…a look back over a life.
20 years ago….
I had very short hair, was going to Lynton Primary School and had a painfully unrequited crush on a lad in my class. I also badgered all my classmates into regularly putting on random plays that I would write, direct, star in…. (and I thought I wasn’t a natural leader! 
)
10 years ago….
I had bobbed hair, had a spectacular 21st Birthday party and was in my final year of university, trying to decide (sing with me Avenue Q fans!) ‘what do you do with a BA in English’ (& drama!)
5 years ago….
My hair was short and my hairdresser decided I should grow it after a party where I wore a long, blonde wig…(I was Buffy…)
I had been a Christian for nearly 2 years and was already working for my church. I seemed to spend a lot of my time shouting ‘yes’ whenever I was prayed for!! I was a spiritual Meg Ryan….
Carolyn and I went to Spain…on a coach….oh the joys of Oak Hall!

My hair had grown lots….I think this was the year lots of my friends got married.
I did the preaching course at our church! And discovered a new gift!
My vicar and one of my best friends decided to leave Oak Tree….and Return of the King was about to be released in cinemas – so I was facing lots of ‘end-of-era’ feelings!!

My hair was officially long. I was planning my 30th Birthday Party and getting in touch with lots of old friends. I was very excited about the Narnia film about to be released.
So Far This Year I….
Have seen at least five people’s lives transformed by Jesus during the Alpha courses we’ve run. Gone so much deeper with my close friends and picked up some new friends I wouldn’t like to be without….
Have had the biggest test of my faith so far and given up something I really wanted…but I realise now it really was the right the decision!
Have stopped eating so much chocolate and have enjoyed being slimmer!!
Have met Nathan Fillion…double handshake….did I show you the picture?!! 
Have seen my sister in Australia for the first time ever!
Have got a tattoo!
Have snorkelled on the Great Barrier Reef.
Have been to see Avenue Q and Wicked!
Have got two new best friends to play with in the office 
Have got a myspace!!
Last week I….
Saw Abbie in a show, watched ‘The Two Towers’ extended edition for the first time in ages…, had dinner with old friends, saw ‘Breaking & Entering’ with Jude Law – beautiful film – highly recommend it!, prayed with someone to be filled with the Spirit for the first time, had Chinese take away TWICE!, phoned my dad for the first time in too long and finally conceeded that my watch of ten years was broken beyond repair and decided I needed a new one!
And that – my friends – is a look at my life!!
