Maybe it’s cuz am about to embark on a sermon myself, or maybe it’s because someone asked me where to find good sermons yesterday – but felt like posting up some of my fav ‘God Stuff’ websites that I listen to when I’m hungry to soak up some good teaching….

www.aboutlife.com/godpod this is an HTB thingy where some theologians sit around with coffee and biscuits and discuss questions people send them. Like a radio show. I think Mike Lloyd, Graham Tomlin and Janes Williams talk a lot of sense

www.aboutlife.com/grahamt The above mentioned Graham’s blog….fun, real, honest and insightful!

http://www.staldates.org.uk/resources.asp I LOVE Simons Posonby’s passion when he speaks – even if his talks can be LONG. This is an Oxford Church – so theology heavy – but not too dense that it’s not applicable and interesting!

http://evanstonvineyard.org/podcasts/sermons.cfm this is a Chicago church – heard Steve Nicholson speak at New Wine last year and he’s great too.

http://www.htb.org.uk/downloads/default.htm HTB – home of the Alpha course – plenty to choose from here too.

oops almost forgot my own church website www.oaktree.org.uk where there are sermons to read and some more recent downloadable ones. You may even hear a certain red head doing her thang there too.

May He stretch your mind and your heart……x

Current mood: hopeful

So….it’s 2007 folks!

Gotta love a new year. Brill time for fresh starts and new vision and hope for the future…..

Things I am looking forward to this year:

Mine and Lisa’s Pirates and Princess’s Party on Friday …….arrrrrrrrrr!

Trip to Canada in March/April to see les Lieffertz and Simone – how much do I miss those guys?!

Oak Tree Weekend Away in May – always such a blast and I learn and laugh so much….especially looking forward to the staff contribution to the cabaret as we try and make our mark on the West End repertoire!

New Wine in August -  hanging out, worship, ministry, red wine…what’s not to like?….ok so maybe the camping – but I am determined to take a warm sleeping bag this year…besides I’m kinda bonding with my tent now.

Am also excited about seeing God move…in me, in my friends, in Acton….

I love that he’s about transformation, that he never gives up on us, that he’s more commited to me than I could ever be to him and that I can trust him with my fears, hopes and dreams…..

That no matter what 2007 holds, he will always be there – holding me by the hand and never letting go.

Below is my desktop pic – inspired by one of my fav films, the Village – it shows the moment when the lead – our heroine, Ivy (who is blind) , holds out her hand in the darkness – waiting for the man she loves to come and rescue her. In the nick of time he grabs her hand, firmly and confidently and leads her to safety.

When  I saw it – I recognised myself in Ivy – a girl who had been lost in the darkness and in need of rescuing…. and I knew when I read the verse from the bible below, that I had been rescued and was held firmly and confidently by one who loved me.

I hope and pray that you know that he is there for you too this year.
